a little math
just in case you were wondering:
1,000,000 x 365 = 365,000,000
365,000,000 x 2009 = 733,285,000,000
787,000,000,000 - 733,285,000,000 = 53,715,000,000
Therefore, if the US government spent:
1 million dollars a day
every day since Christ
it would still be less than what was just approved for the stimulus bill.
close to $54 billion less.
awesome. go government.

who's ready for summer?
The air--yes, air...in February--wasn't working in my office today. It stayed a nice warm temperature until about 2:30 when the guys complained enough to get it fixed.
It might have been my favorite day in the past 5+ months.
(I mean, it's hard to be productive when I'm contemplating whether I want to sit on my hands to keep them warm or design with them...)

blood bank
I'm donating blood at work tomorrow. This makes twice in 5 months...vampires. After forcing one of my coworkers to listen to new bon iver, it was suggested that we use "blood bank" as the theme song. Somehow, I don't think the whole post-donation, making-out-in-the-car bit would go over too well.
Speaking of music, I've been in a very random, very deep rut over the past month. I've probably not listened to more than 10 artists during January, including one work day where I listened to Jay-Z the entire time. Like all 8 hours. whoops.

One Man's Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible

I've just started this book by A. J. Jacobs. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Jacobs is an editor at Esquire magazine, and apparently loves doing quirky experiments and writing about them. He also wrote a book called The Know-It-All, in which he read the entire Encyclopedia Britannica then wrote about it. I might read that next.
Also, for those aspiring to be bearded, perhaps you should take up living by Old Testament law:
